The founder and senior partner of the Firm is Mr. Henry Y. H. Wai.

Mr. Henry Wai was admitted as a Solicitor of Hong Kong in 1988. Mr. Wai obtained his LL.B. degree at the London School of Economics and Political Science, University of London in 1984, and passed the Solicitors’ Final Examination of England and Wales after attending the Chester College of Law in 1985. Mr. Wai has also obtained a Post Graduate Diploma on Construction Claims and Arbitration (with Distinction) in 2003.

Before founding the Firm, Mr. Wai was the Head of Litigation of a leading local firm, building up and heading a team up to 14 commercial litigation lawyers and handling mainly commercial and corporate litigation, land related litigation, construction claims and arbitration, and commercial and corporate matters.

Mr. Wai has very extensive experience in different areas of commercial and corporate litigation, including shareholders/partnership disputes, battle for control of companies, disputes between joint venture parties, claims for breach of trust/fiduciary duties, derivative actions, unfairly prejudicial conduct, winding-up and receivership, passing off and infringement of intellectual property rights, construction claims, arbitration, employment disputes involving breach of confidence, breach of duty of fidelity and good faith, restrictive covenants, commercial and corporate fraud, international sale of goods, employment matters and land related disputes, contentious probate and matrimonial disputes. Mr. Wai is also experienced in commercial and corporate matters, as well as land development matters.

Mr. Wai has since 1995 and up to now been the Honorary Legal Adviser of the Rural Committee of Sai Kung, and is experienced in land, the rights of descendants of indigenous villagers and “tso” and “tong” matters in the New Territories.

Mr. Wai also has the unique experience of acting as a Deputy Presiding Officer of the Labour Tribunal (2001~2003) and heard, decided and acted in the mediation of a large number of cases of employment disputes.

To promote academic excellence and improve the standard of litigation of law graduates, Mr. Wai has since 2009 provided prizes to the P.C.LL. graduates of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and as from the academic year 2015~2016, to those of the University of Hong Kong.

Mr. Wai is the Vice-Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee and a member of the Belt and Road Conference Committee of the Law Society of Hong Kong.
