21^st May 2022: Peking University Mock Arbitration Course

Since 2019, our Mr. Henry Wai has been a lecturer for the Mock Arbitration Course of the Peking University Law School, one of the most prestigious law schools in Mainland China.

The Mock Arbitration session for 2022 (conducted in English) was held on 21st May 2022 via video conference, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Mock Arbitration lasted 1 full day and involved hearings on (1) the independence of arbitrators, (2) the jurisdiction of the arbitral tribunal and (3) various preliminary issues relating to force majeure and impossibility of performance of contracts. The participants were the LL.B. and LL.M. students of the Peking University, who are the top students in Mainland China, and displayed an impressive standard of advocacy skills and understanding of principles of common law and international arbitration law and practices.

Mr. Henry Wai will continue to act as a lecturer for the Mock Arbitration Course in 2023, which is expected to take place at the campus of the Peking University face to face with the students.

Both our Mr. Henry Wai and our firm are committed to promote international arbitration in Mainland China and to guide, mentor and nurture the top law students in Mainland China to develop first-hand knowledge of the law, practice and procedures of international arbitration.
